Must be rough on recommenders, too (who are likely already up to their necks in job and school recs for folks).Alexahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12113964695613352564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5592600946586564540.post-16075126743680917232012-04-04T13:32:41.476-04:002012-04-04T13:32:41.476-04:00One submission requirement I have seen from time t...One submission requirement I have seen from time to time is a letter of recommendation. It seems rather ridiculous since it doesn't have any bearing on the quality or themes of the play and it provides a major obstacle for early career playwrights who have yet to acquire a reputation or connections.Ian Thalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15348768867561450314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5592600946586564540.post-19574862777177176012012-04-04T11:11:50.643-04:002012-04-04T11:11:50.643-04:00I've noticed (and welcomed) the shift away fro...I've noticed (and welcomed) the shift away from snail subs too. Occasionally I will send the required copies, but only if there's a strong reason I want to submit to a particular festival and if there is no e-submission possibility. I think more and more theatres are requesting e-scripts versus snail mail, and thank goodness for that - less piles of unread scripts to recycle - and less cost of mailing, printing, etc.Kelly DuMarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02022281623219255924noreply@blogger.com
